Description:
Abstract:
This dataset illustrates the potential ability of a landscape to accommodate infiltration practices as a stormwater management technique. Areas favorable for implementing on-site infiltration are presented. On-site infiltration facilities are are intended to mimic the natural predevelopment hydrology of a project area and reduce the impacts associated with urbanization.

This dataset is adapted from Figure 49 "Relative Infiltration Potential" in Washington County's report "Integrating Groundwater and Surface Water Management," 2005.

Purpose:
This dataset was developed in conjunction with the South Washington Watershed District Watershed Management Plan Update. This dataset was developed to help ensure the proper placement of stormwater infiltration features within the context of soils, groundwater, geology and other constraints.

Attribute_Definition:
Values from Figure 49 of Washington County's "Integrating Groundwater and Surface Water Management," 2005. The term "infiltration" is used in the study to mean water that seeps into the ground and reaches the regional water table. "The infiltration potential ranking can be used as a general guide for locating infiltration features, such as stormwater basins." Refer to Section 4.3.4 of that study for a full discusssion of the development of rankings.
